Best Weekend Getaway in Selangor

Yeah, I can feel it. It's obvious that everyone spent some wonderful time within the walls😉since March 2020. Now the COVID active cases are declining and now the people in KL are opening the doors to spend some quality time outside their home carefully with masks and maintaining the SOP. Lot of places started allowing the fully vaccinated people to get their experience of being outside like the way it was before pandemic.  As like one of you, when the place got opened, as a vaccinated individual started looking at google for the places to visit near me, weekend getaway in Selangor, attraction near me, holiday places and best places to travel in Selangor. Many places are crowded considering the current time, wanted to explore somewhere in Selangor without getting in midst of crowd. Fortunately, I found the place called "Spics Lake Cottage Resort and Homestay"

All the reviewers who visited this place before having rated this place as 10/10, so little wondered and gone ahead and booked this place. When I visited this place and stayed for couple of days. I thought of sharing my experience and details about this place for the future  visitors who are yet to decide on where to go 🙇   

About Spics Lake Cottage Resort and Homestay

This spectacular place is spread across 10 acres of land which is whopping 435,600 square feet located at 193 a, Kampung Tumbuk Darat, 43950 Sungai Blankan, Selangor. From Kuala Lumpur it takes around 1 hour 30 Minutes i.e., from KL Sentral 91.5 KM to reach this place by car. Spics Lake Cottage Resort and Homestay has a car park available for guests. Parking is free for guests. Check-in starts from 02:00 PM and check-out is until 12:00 PM, however the management is flexible based on the booking made on the next day. 

This resort was opened in 2018 and continued its business until lock down happened in early 2020, now opened back couple of weeks before once permission granted by the authorities.  These 10 acres land covered with place where you stay surrounded by betel leaf cultivation, palm plantation and cattle farming. 

Pre-requisites 

• Fully Vaccinated individual after 14 days of second dose
• MySejahtera app

Important things to note: 

• 15 People can stay and Free WIFI is available 

• Network connectivity for the mobile is very Poor. 

• No Restaurants nearby, you must drive 8 KM from the place where you stay. Reception person will help you to buy if informed prior. 

• Complimentary breakfast 

• You can order Lunch and dinner. Last order is 8.30 PM

• You will be given with the menu card covering Breakfast, Lunch Dinner, Snacks, beverages and desert. Don't get too excited, menu is very limited 😇

• You must carry your toothbrush and others. 

• Bath Shampoo and towels are made available. 

• Beach is 15+ KM from the place where you stay. 

Rooms

Once you check in, you will be guided by the reception person with complete details. Management is very supportive and flexible. The rooms are spacious, clean and very new. Speakers are made available in the wall throughout the living room and 3 bedrooms connected with amplifier. You will enjoy the music wherever you go. Two bedrooms with double bed attached with the working area (People can stay during Weekdays and continue work from home 👍) and bunk bed for the kids. Kitchen area is another significant place, you will get all the utensils to cook if required and provided with Cuckoo water filter and the oven. 

After checking in and rest, in the evening you can visit either cattle farming or recreation games like Arrow, Table tennis, carom, chess with friends and family 

During the night, BBQ place is perfect for the friends and family to enjoy the time together in the weekend. 

You can enjoy the night view of the Spics Lake Cottage Resort. Long walk, Birds Chirping Sound, sit out area where you can get relaxed and enjoy the beauty of nature 

After bedtime, once you get freshen up, morning breakfast will be served from 8.00 AM to 10.00 AM as pre-ordered by us to them form the menu. Perfect breakfast area with the glass door. If any old aged people travelling with you, the breakfast will be served to them at the homestay itself

After having the breakfast, you can visit the betel leaf cultivation next to your stay. 1 minute walk. You can feel the nature, taste the fresh betel leaves. 

After that, you are good to pack your stuff, get back to KL and resume your normal life again with the wonderful memories. Cheers!!

Alright, let me make it clear few points as well to set the expectation which will benefit the parents who are travelling with Kids. 

• Swimming Pool under construction 
• Play area under construction 

As per their management, expected to get completed in 3-4 months. So, these amenities are 

yet to come, however your kids can enjoy the cattle farming - Goat, cow and chickens😉
